Kensington Aldridge Academy Boat Club Launched

On the 15th November we were able to bring eight memebrs of the British Rowing Team to the school to help launch their new Boat Club.  They were given an opportunity to ask some brilliant questions including, ‘How is your diet? Are you allowed to eat McDonalds?’ – all to gain a better understanding of what it takes to be a top athlete.

Team GB organised a relay competition with four teams consisting of six rowers. Each individual had to row for 30 seconds then perform a quick and smooth transition off and on the rowing machine. The students loved the competitiveness of the event. Some students were highlighted for being ‘natural rowers’ displaying great technique and power.

In Januray 2018 the school will be taking to the Thames as part of the Fulham Reach Boat Club charitable rowing program, Future Blues.
