English Beach Sprints Race Report

Last weekend, junior members braved the cold and waves in Bournemouth to take part in the GB Beach Sprint Trials on Saturday and the English Beach Sprint Regatta on Sunday. Four attended trials and eight competed in the regatta alongside Coach Yewande, making FRBC the most well-represented club at the event!

It was a positive weekend with lots of learning. All of the juniors gained confidence from one trial to the next, in some cases moving up the rankings despite their limited experience with the format.

There was a lot of healthy competition within the FRBC group, but they were also very supportive of each other and gave the loudest cheers. They are now looking forward to taking part in future competitions and getting a taste of side-by-side racing.

Many thanks to Coach Yewande for guiding the juniors through their first beach sprint competition, to Coach Will, Adam, and Aidan for their support on Sunday, and to the parents who supported them across the weekend. With a huge well done to our juniors, we are so proud of you all!
