Update on our change in Charity Chair
Welcoming Delia as Our New Chair!
We are delighted to announce Delia Parry as the new Chair of Fulham Reach Boat Club, marking an exciting new chapter for the Club. Delia brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective that will help steer the charity forward, building on the incredible foundation laid by David Fitzherbert.
Delia is an experienced CEO and non-exec with a 25+ year career in the sport, media & tech worlds. She has led BT’s Media division, overseeing its £1 billion investment into the BT Sport channels and TV platform, and spent 14 years at Sky, including as MD for Ireland, Chief Commercial Officer of Sky Italy and MD of Sky Broadband. Within sport she has been a non-exec on the boards of England Cricket and Commonwealth Games England, on the NSPCC Sport Board, and CEO of the Jockey Club. She is now an advisor and incubator of new ventures in the sports tech sector.
Delia rowed and coxed at Oxford university and has three daughters who have rowed at school, clubs on the Tideway and at Oxford, so she has a strong passion for the health and community benefits of rowing. She has long admired FRBC’s mission and achievements as a ‘sport for good’ centre of excellence and is delighted to have the opportunity to Chair this wonderful charity as it crosses its 10 year milestone.
She added, “I have long admired FRBC’s mission and achievements as a ‘sport for good’ centre of excellence and am delighted to have the opportunity to Chair this wonderful charity as it crosses its 10 year milestone. I look forward to working with the passionate team here in helping to transform the lives of children and adults with financial hardship or disabilities through experiencing the benefits of rowing.”
With Delia’s support, we’re excited to continue growing, achieving new goals, and making an even greater impact together. Please join us in thanking David and warmly welcoming Delia to the FRBC team!
A Heartfelt Thank You to David!
After more than 10 incredible years as Chairman, David Fitzherbert, is stepping down, leaving an extraordinary legacy.
From the club's earliest days alongside Steve and Yolande, to Adam and the current team, David has been at the heart of FRBC's journey, from its conception to the thriving rowing club and 'Sport for Good' charity we are proud to be part of today. His dedication, leadership, and vision have been invaluable, and he leaves a legacy of passion and progress that we will always be grateful for.
On the afternoon of 25th March 2025 we will be hosting a Farewell Party for David to celebrate his legacy, we will also be cheering on our Junior Squad crews competing in the Schools Head of River and hosting a new boat naming ceremony. We invite all members to share their own thanks and well wishes by contributing to David’s e-card by clicking the link below — let’s show him how much his efforts have meant to us all!
