Paris 2024 Olympic Medallists Visit FRBC

Posted on Wed, 21 Aug, 2024

On Wednesday 14th August, just two days after they returned from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, we were thrilled to welcome Holly Dunford, Lauren Irwin, Annie Campbell-Orde and Henry Fieldman and get to take a look at their Olympic medals!

Holly was initially inspired to start rowing after she went with her family to watch the rowing at Eton Dorney during the London 2012 Olympic Games. She won a brilliant bronze in the Women’s eight.

Lauren, originally a swimmer, Irwin was introduced to rowing by her secondary school PE teacher and made her senior debut at the 2021 World Cup. She helped the women's eight storm to bronze at Paris 2024.

Annie played premiership netball at Millfield in Somerset and went on to Loughborough University to try and play internationally. She rowed at Nottingham Rowing Club and then Leander Club. She won a brilliant bronze in the Women’s eight.

Henry was born in Hammersmith and grew up in Barnes! Coxing for the men’s squad, Henry won two World Championship titles, two European titles as well as an Olympic Bronze medal at Tokyo 2020. At the Paris 2024 Olympic Rowing Regatta, Henry won a brilliant bronze in the Women’s eight.

It was a really inspirational experience for our young rowers! Thank you to everyone who made our Olympic guest welcome! Thanks to Justyna for the wonderful photos.
