Job Title: Media & Communications Executive
Location: Hybrid Remote / London (on-site as required)
Salary: £15,000 - £18,000 depending on experience
Hours/Contract: Part-Time, 15 hours per week, or would consider Agency/Freelance contract (details to be agreed)
Annual Leave: 24 days pro rata + 8 Bank Holidays / or Contract
Reports to: CEO & Chief of Community Development

Fulham Reach Boat Club is an award-winning charity that uses the sport of rowing to transform lives. We work with schools, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and adults in recovery to increase access to rowing and build a more inclusive and supportive rowing community. Role Overview
We're looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic Media & Communications Coordinator to take ownership of FRBC’s social media, newsletter communications and occasional video content creation. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about storytelling, community engagement and digital content creation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Social Media Management
Plan, write and design engaging content across FRBC’s social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and TikTok.
Create static visuals and video assets using Canva or other design tools.
Develop content for campaigns including fundraising events (e.g. Big Give), community activities (e.g. Festive Fun River Run), commercial and corporate activities, and general charitable awareness.
Schedule posts and manage the FRBC Linktree for Instagram.
Monitor and manage community engagement – respond to comments, flag queries to the wider team.
2. Weekly Internal Newsletter
Collaborate with the CEO each week to plan newsletter content, and use of mail management software e.g. MailChimp.
Liaise with FRBC team members to gather stories, updates and images.
Ensure approval from relevant team members on their sections and confirm image permissions.
Monitor the FRBC Social WhatsApp group for member news; reach out for permission to feature them.
Share racing reports and photos with the CEO for the FRBC website’s News section.
Stay informed of relevant stories from British Rowing, Hammersmith & Fulham Council, and other partner organisations to include in newsletters.
Monitor performance of newsletters open rates and clicks.
3. Special Mailers / Campaigns
Ad hoc create additional email campaigns to promote events or fundraising drives to wider email databases.
4. Database Management
Update FRBC’s mailing database – adding/removing contacts as directed by the Membership Manager.
5. Fundraising Support
Support the fundraising team by producing video content for funding bids or campaigns when required.
6. Team Collaboration
Ad hoc attendance weekly staff meetings and monthly FAST (Fundraising and Social Team) meetings (1 hour, online or in-person).
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong copywriting and editing skills, with attention to detail.
Experience managing social media platforms for organisations.
Basic design skills using Canva or similar tools.
Familiarity with Mailchimp or comparable email marketing platforms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable using and managing online databases or spreadsheets.
Able to take initiative and work independently with good time management.
Bonus: video editing experience or willingness to learn.
