Leander and Head of the River Race

For this year’s Head of the River we were extremely pleased to be able to host the world-class Leander Club.  In the week leading up to the race we were able to host three crews from Leander who were packed with World and Olympic Champions.  Tom Ransley, Olympic Champion from Rio in the Men’s Eight, brought his gold medal in and was able to share some inspirational stories with the boys from Fulham Boys School.  We very much look forward to seeing Leander again in 2020 and helping them re-take the title of Head of the River.

It wasn’t just Leander boating from FRBC on the day as only our second ever entry headed out to compete in the race.  The crew, made up of nearly 50% FRBC Learn to Row Graduates, finished a highly respectable 3rd out of 5 in the ‘Club Beginner’s’ category and will now look to see if they can take their maiden win at a regatta this summer.
