Adult Learn to Row Level 2

Learn to Row level 2 rowers will all have successfully completed the learn to row level one or have been specifically exempted from it by an FRBC coach.  No rowers can sign up to this course without an FRBC Coaches agreement.

This programme aims to bring rowers who have successfully completed it, to a skill level where they are ready to join the Graduate membership squad.  Rowers joining the Learn to Row level 2 programme will almost certainly need to complete a number of rotations to be ready to join the Membership of the Fulham Reach Boat Club – key learning aims include
-  Completion of the Navigation test (pass score 90%)
-  Understanding core practical navigation rules on the river and being able to apply those rules
-  Understanding simple coxing directions
-  Gain confidence and fitness in practical rowing
-  Better Boat Handling on and off the river
-  Calls and etiquette of the river.
-  Boat Etiquette, rowing with different people within a squad
-  Gain confidence and enjoyment of the river.

Our professionally trained coaches will deliver safe and enjoyable sessions, covering everything from technique on the water to the navigation patterns of the River Thames.  Developing your rowing skills and confidence on the river is a key step towards membership at Fulham Reach Boat Club.

Fulham Reach isn't just any Boat Club, it is an amazing charity that changes lives through sport and we hope while you learn to row you can share our mission to support more people in accessing this amazing sport. You can read more about our award-winning work on our charity page

Each week we have two Learn to Row level 2 squads running, each one with two sessions a week. Sessions are sold in 10 session blocks which are generally completed over an approximate 5 week period.  We are not able to substitute missed sessions for sessions at other times.  Most participants will need to do multiple blocks of the learn to row 2 squad before they are ready to apply to join the FRBC Membership.  Some participants may choose not to progress and be very happy just enjoying the river. Please note that due to scheduled events on the river some courses will have different timings. There are also some sessions when the course content is covered on land instead of on the water.

Choose from Cohort sessions that run on a:
-> Tuesday and Friday
-> Saturday and Sunday

What to expect:
-> Professionally trained coaches, specialising in coaching beginners through to experienced rowers
-> A friendly and welcoming club environment that is open to all
-> High quality facilities and equipment for the best learning experience

Please note that if a course is undersubscribed then alternative dates will be offered.
