Henley Masters Race Report

Huge congratulations to the four FRBC crews who represented us brilliantly at the challenging Henley Masters Regatta!

While we didn't bring home any winner's medals this time, all twelve of our members thoroughly enjoyed the experience and, crucially, gained invaluable race practice. As our coaches always say, "it can be a long journey but important lessons are learnt at every step."

A massive thank you to Kate and the Race Committee for their tireless behind-the-scenes admin, which ensured our crews could compete. And of course, immense gratitude to all the coaches involved for preparing the crews and, most importantly, for their motivational encouragement that gave everyone the confidence to compete.

Our competing crews were:

Men's Quad: Niklas, Bryan, Chris, Jose
Men's Pair: Rupert, Iain
Women's Quad: Roxana, Linnea, Kate, Penny
Mixed Quad: Teresa, Bryan, Chris, Charlotte
Teresa shared her experience: "Absolutely loved every moment of the Henley Masters Regatta 2025 - from the stunning surroundings and flat water to the extraordinary camaraderie within our crew. There was a real sense of pride in safely steering the course (only one white flag warning ?!) and a huge sense of achievement racing alongside crews with decades more experience than our own. The atmosphere was welcoming, never intimidating, and although we lost, we felt we had done well to keep up with the competition. Huge thanks to our coaches for their encouragement and preparation, to Kate and Bryan for the flawless organisation and invitation to join the Mixed Masters crew and a special shoutout to our amazing stroke, Charlotte, who is an example of strength and resilience!"
