Heineken Regatta Race Report by Allison Botero

Jo, Linnea, Caitlin and Allison coxed by Emma and managed by Sophia joined hundreds of other rowers on the Amstel in Amsterdam this past weekend for the 53rd annual Heineken Roeivierkamp rowing tournament. This world-class event, over multiple distances, tests both endurance and speed, with the logistics and admin required weeding out all but the most resolute aspirants.  We could not have done any of it without Sophia’s unswerving support - we love you! 

This is the second year a FRBC ladies quad has ventured to Amsterdam and we’re proud to have been able to build on last year’s experience to move up the rankings. Saturday’s 2.5k and 250m events were extra difficult given our frozen fingers but we came back strong for Sunday’s 5k event finding our swing for the duration of the race, passing 5 crews in the process!
