This fun filled popular course runs each day from 8am – 3pm from Monday 30th March – Thursday 2nd April and is aimed at young people who may not have had the opportunity to try rowing previously. The week is completely free to all young people in receipt of Free School Meals.
Dates: 30th March – Thursday 2nd April
Times: 08:00 - 15:00

The week’s course includes Rowing and Kayaking every day plus breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. The week is designed to help young people learn and try new skills as part of our Sport for Good charity mission. As well as physical activity, the course includes educational talks from inspirational speakers, including Olympians, and sessions on water safety with the RNLI, nutrition, mental wellbeing with Mind, first aid with St John Ambulance, and developing a positive “I Can” sports mindset with practical tools to take away.
Taking part in a new activity that young people may initially feel is “not for them” can be transformational. FWW gives young people the opportunity to challenge themselves in a safe, supportive environment, helping them to build confidence, resilience and self-belief whilst developing a real sense of community.
Those interested are encouraged to attend the whole week to gain maximum experience and impact. No previous rowing or kayaking experience is necessary to attend.
You can see what the course looks like here. Past participants have said “I had lots of fun and made new friends from different schools.”?“Super lovely staff/coaches - friendly, funny, and helpful!”
Please share and pass on to anyone that you know who may benefit and enjoy a Free Watersports Week at FRBC!
