FAQs

What happens if I cannot attend all of the Learn to Row sessions?
Our courses adopt a progressive learning approach therefore we do strongly advise that all of the sessions are attended during a Learn to Row course. If you are not able to attend then we require advance warning so that our coaches are able to plan crews accordingly for each session. Unfortunately we are not able to provide refunds for any sessions missed.

What happens if there are bad weather or tidal conditions on the day I am due to go rowing?
If you are due to attend a coached session at the club then where possible we will email or phone you in advance of your lesson time to cancel the session if the coach decides that the conditions are not suitable for an outing. Cancelled sessions due to bad weather conditions will either be rescheduled or an indoor session will take place, this is a decision that will be made by the FRBC coaching team and/or CEO.

It is the responsibility of all of our Recreational members to make their own decisions as to whether the weather conditions are safe for outings on the water as advised in the membership application process. The FRBC coaching team are of course always happy to assist when available, but as a rule of thumb: IF IN DOUBT DON’T GO OUT!

What level of experience do I need in order to join as a Recreational Member?
