Big Give Campaign
From the 3rd to the 10th of December, Fulham Reach Boat Club (FRBC) will be joining the Big Give Campaign.
The Big Give is an on-line campaign that has raised over £280m for thousands of charities since it began in 2007.
FRBC is more than just a rowing club. Based near Hammersmith Bridge with direct access to the River Thames the charity aims to enable more people to access the river and rowing. Initiatives are designed to improve physical and mental wellbeing, build confidence, a sense of community and environmental responsibility and currently supports nearly 2,000 people every year.
Entitled ‘Reach out into the Blue’, FRBC’s Big Give Campaign is aiming to raise £40,000. This will enable the charity to replace two of new teaching rowing boats and support the Reach Pathway which provides bursary memberships for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who have a real passion and enthusiasm for the sport. The campaign recognises the huge benefits that getting outside on the water and into a blue space can bring to us all.
Over the summer FRBC began collecting pledges from supporters and donors and raised £10,000 which has been match funded by The Childhood Trust. During the next part of the campaign FRBC hope to raise a further £20,000 enabling them to reach their campaign target.
Donations towards ‘Reach out into the Blue’ can be made from midday on 3rd to December to midday on 10th December. Donations will be doubled in value by The Big Give. With Gift Aid, FRBC will receive an additional 25% on any donation meaning every £1 donated could be worth £2.25
