Accessible Rowing

At Fulham Reach Boat Club (FRBC), we believe rowing should be for everyone—regardless of background, ability, or experience. As part of our Accessible Rowing mission, we’re committed to breaking down barriers and opening up the River Thames to all.

In August of 2024 we piloted our first Accessible Rowing sessions, then in 2025 we proudly delivered Row the Rhythm, a free 12-week Learn to Row course for 10 adults with visual impairments funded by Love Rowing. The programme brought together participants, coaches, and volunteers in a powerful display of how sport can be inclusive, life-changing, and community-driven. From learning to row on land with our indoor rowing machines and rowing simulators to confidently navigating the Thames in our stable explore coxed quads accompanied by coach and volunteer rowers, participants gained new skills, friendships, and a sense of freedom on the water.

“There’s a strong culture of kindness, inclusivity and teamwork at FRBC. The feedback from participants and the growth in their confidence showed just how transformative rowing can be.” – FRBC Coach
