10 Year Celebrations of FRBC
Last Saturday, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating a decade of Fulham Reach Boat Club! It was a truly special day that brought together our vibrant community: adult members, juniors, the FRBC team, our Trustees, and our incredible supporters. Together, we reflected on all that we’ve achieved and the exciting journey that lies ahead. Thank you to everyone who helped us mark this milestone!
For those who couldn’t join us, you can still catch the Riverside Chat, excellently moderated by our own Chiyo. The panel featured Founder and former CEO Steve O’Connor, Chair of Trustees David Fitzherbert—who took us back to the club’s early days—and Imogen Walsh, who shared the powerful impact of the Boats Not Bars programme, now reaching seven prisons.
Our Fundraising Manager, Julia Philipson, also highlighted the success of initiatives like the Free Water Sports Weeks and Junior Bursary Memberships, and I shared some of the exciting developments at FRBC, such as the environmental initiatives, our work towards opening rowing up to even more of our community through working with alternative provision schools, reaching out to local charity Action On Disability and Visually Impaired Adaptive Rowing Sessions.
With delicious offerings from Simply Paella and Windsor & Eton Brewery, followed by a silent disco in the Boat Bay and with the Great River Race going past too, more to follow on this below!
A special shout-out to our amazing photographers—Tim Koch, Justyna Nascimento, and Babs Gorniak—for capturing the essence of this wonderful celebration.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this day unforgettable, with a special thanks to Amanda Wood for ensuring the event was a joy from start to finish. Here’s to the next 10 years!
