FRBC Finalist for Community Club of the Year 2024

Posted on Wed, 10 Jan, 2024

We are delighted to share that we have been named as a finalist for the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s Community Sport and Recreation Awards 2024 for Community Club of the Year 2024!

The Community Sport and Recreation Awards 2024 is a national-recognised awards programme organised by the Sport and Recreation Alliance. It is estimated that there are 151,000 sports clubs in the UK so for Fulham Reach Boat Club to be in the running for Club of the Year is an amazing achievement.

Our CEO, Adam Freeman-Pask, added "It is a massive accomplishment for Fulham Reach Boat Club to be recognised nationally and across all sports with this prestigious nomination, as we enter the 10th Anniversary year of our charity it is a testament to all the hard work and determination of everyone involved along its journey and the local community to turn this area of West London into a new development, community, and a thriving community club that provides an amazing range of opportunities to people that would be otherwise underserved by the sport sector."

We also want to congratulate the two other finalists in our category, Help for Heros Wheelchair Rugby and Propulsion Trampoline Club on their nominations too, with the winner being crowned at an awards ceremony on 8 March 2024 at Headingley Stadium in Leeds, the home of Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Each of the winners in the eight awards categories will receive £1000 to help support their work in the future. So please wish us luck.

This wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the whole FRBC team, our members, board, schools, prisons, partners, volunteers, funders, Friends of FRBC, and the wider community.

Thank you all for your ongoing support!
